Thai PM Anutin orders public service center to take fraud complaints on local civil service exams

On 27 June 2024 Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul signed Order No. 256/2569 directing the Public Service Center of the Office of the Prime Minister to establish a channel for receiving complaints and tips about corruption in competitive examinations for local civil‑service positions. The move follows investigations by the National Anti‑Corruption Commission and police that uncovered extensive evidence and arrests linked to a scheme in which intermediaries misled exam candidates. The order requires the Center to publicise the channel, facilitate reporting by affected candidates, and continuously report progress to the prime minister.

The initiative aims to restore public confidence, support victims of the fraud, and assist law‑enforcement agencies in further investigations.
