Thai Prime Minister Anutin rejects alleged corruption video involving Interior Ministry official

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said a circulating audio clip that linked the wife of the Interior Ministry’s permanent secretary to alleged fraud in local civil‑service examinations was "nonsense" and lacked substance. He declined to give a detailed explanation, stating that the government must rely on factual investigations. The Ministry of Interior and the Department of Local Administration have lodged complaints, and agencies such as the police, the National Anti‑Corruption Commission and the Anti‑Money Laundering Office will handle any probe. Anutin also noted that the earlier postponement of appointments for local officials has been cancelled, but the ministry’s stance remains that any confirmed misconduct will be addressed, emphasizing that such cases have no statute of limitations.
