Thai Boy Band Singer Tae Found Dead in Chao Phraya River

Thai singer Thaman Taepun, known as Tae of the popular boy band Dragon 5, disappeared on the morning of 6 August 2024 after leaving his home on a bicycle around 04:00 h. His girlfriend reported him missing that day.

On 7 August, police recovered a male body floating near the Rama VII bridge in Nonthaburi province, along the Chao Phraya River. The corpse was identified as Tae, aged 46. He was wearing a short‑sleeved sports shirt, black shorts and a black backpack that contained a cement weight and a brick totaling about 10 kg. No external injuries were observed. Tae had no mobile phone or GPS‑enabled watch with him.

Investigators have not determined the cause of death, and the family doubts suicide, noting that he had recently obtained documents for a planned monk ordination. Police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding his death.
