Death of Thai singer Tae Dragon 5

Overview

Thaman Taepun, a 46-year-old singer from the Thai boy band Dragon 5 known as Tae, was found dead in the Chao Phraya River near the Rama VII Bridge in Nonthaburi province. He had been reported missing on August 6 after leaving his home on a bicycle.

Authorities recovered his body with no visible external injuries. He was wearing athletic clothing and carrying a backpack that contained approximately 10 kg of weight, including cement and a brick, as well as a piece of rope. His bicycle, mobile phone, and wallet were not found at the scene.

While investigators work to determine the cause of death, the singer's family and girlfriend have expressed doubt regarding suicide. They noted that he had been acting normally, had no recent serious conflicts, and was making preparations for a monk ordination and the expansion of his barber shop into a vocational training center. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage and awaiting autopsy results.
