Thailand Defence Minister deploys troops to Suvarnabhumi Airport

Thailand's Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, announced that military personnel will be deployed to Suvarnabhumi Airport to assist with the relocation of stranded passenger luggage. The move follows reports from Thai Airways and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports regarding luggage stuck on conveyor belts due to recent flooding.

In addition to airport assistance, the military is providing flood relief across Bangkok and surrounding provinces. In Bangkok, resources including field kitchen vehicles have been deployed to evacuation centers, specifically in the Lat Krabang and Khlong Chan areas. In provinces such as Sa Kaeo, Prachin Buri, and Samut Prakan, military units are operating through regional disaster relief centers.

Lieutenant General Adul noted that military camps are currently open to serve as vehicle parking areas for those affected. He advised citizens in distress to contact their nearest military unit or coordinate through local disaster relief directors.
