Thailand faces heavy rain and flash‑flood warnings

Thailand's Meteorological Department warned that heavy rain and thunderstorms will affect large parts of the country over the next 24 hours. The east, especially Chanthaburi and Trat provinces, is forecast to receive the heaviest downpours, with flash‑flood risks in mountain‑slope, waterway and low‑lying areas. Similar thunderstorm activity is expected across the north, northeast, central and southern regions, covering about 30‑40 % of each area.

Sea conditions are also hazardous, with wave heights of 1–2 metres in the upper Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand and potential surges above 2 metres in storm‑affected zones. Residents and sailors are urged to exercise caution and avoid exposed waters.
