Thailand floods disrupt Toyota production and aviation sectors

Severe flooding across Thailand, particularly in Bangkok and surrounding provinces, has caused significant disruptions to the nation’s industrial and aviation sectors. In the automotive industry, Toyota suspended production at four facilities due to disrupted parts deliveries, while Honda temporarily halted motorcycle production at a plant in Rayong.

The aviation sector has also faced challenges. Thai Airways suspended inbound and outbound cargo operations and cancelled numerous flights as staff were unable to reach Suvarnabhumi Airport due to flooded roads. This has resulted in significant flight delays and luggage backlogs.

In Bangkok, the flooding has affected hundreds of thousands of residents, with some districts remaining submerged and facing public health risks from stagnant water. Local authorities have declared emergency states in various districts to manage the crisis and coordinate relief efforts for trapped families.
