Thailand highway M6 exit to M9 West will close for construction
The Department of Highways is set to temporarily close the exit from Motorway M6 (Bang Pa-in – Nakhon Ratchasima) to Motorway M9 West (Bang Bua Thong) at the Bang Pa-in 2 Interchange. The closure begins on November 6, 2026, and is expected to continue until March 31, 2027.
The closure is necessary for the construction of connection points and entrances as part of the M9 Western Outer Ring Road project, specifically the Lat Lum Kaeo – Bang Pa-in section. During this period, traffic on the M9 main line will be diverted to parallel roads, including Highways 3901 and 3902, which have been expanded to three lanes in each direction to accommodate the volume.
Motorists traveling from M6 (Nakhon Ratchasima side) toward M9 West will be unable to use the direct connection at the Bang Pa-in 2 Interchange. Drivers are advised to exit M6 toward Highway 1 (Phahonyothin Road) or M9 East to reach their destinations. However, travelers moving from M9 West toward M6 can continue to use the M6 connection as usual. Authorities urge commuters to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted traffic signs and instructions.
