Thailand launches Oom Plus savings bond sale via Bond Connect platform
The Ministry of Finance announced the first issuance of the Oom Plus retail savings bond, offering a total of 8 billion baht split equally between 3‑year and 10‑year series with fixed interest rates of 1.80% and 2.80% per annum respectively.
The bonds will be sold through two channels: the government’s Peatang wallet beginning 31 July, allowing purchases from as low as 100 baht, and the Bond Connect Platform starting 3 August, requiring a minimum of 1,000 baht for investors with a Thai securities account. The program features monthly issuance, higher guaranteed yields, secondary‑market liquidity, and multiple distribution points including banks, securities firms and streaming apps.
