Thailand Lowers Gasoline Prices and Extends Cooking Gas Price Freeze

PTT Station announced a reduction of retail gasoline and all regular gasohol prices by 0.70 baht per litre, effective 05:00 on 6 August 2026. The new gasoline price is 44.98 baht per litre, with gasohol 95 at 35.99 baht, E20 at 30.99 baht, and E85 at 26.93 baht. Diesel prices remain unchanged. Drivers can save roughly 35 baht on a full 50‑litre tank.

The Thai government also froze the price of a standard 15‑kg household cooking‑gas cylinder at 423 baht until 31 October. To maintain the freeze, the Energy Ministry raised the subsidy from 7.22 to 9.86 baht per kilogram. The national Oil Fuel Fund, which finances the subsidies, now shows a deficit exceeding 71.8 billion baht, with a loss of over 2 billion baht recorded in a single week of August. The measures aim to protect families from volatile global energy prices and ensure affordable fuel for daily use.
