Thailand floods affect 12 provinces and over 37,000 people

Severe flooding across 12 provinces in Thailand has affected approximately 37,036 people across 11,796 households. Affected areas include Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Sing Buri, Suphan Buri, Saraburi, Ayutthaya, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Sa Kaeo, Trat, and Surin.

Water levels are currently rising in Suphan Buri, Chachoengsao, and Sa Kaeo, while levels in Phetchabun, Uthai Thani, Saraburi, Trat, and Surin are decreasing. In Nakhon Sawan, Sing Buri, Ayutthaya, and Prachin Buri, water levels remain stable.

In response, Deputy Minister of Interior Jayseth Thaiseth has directed the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) to establish a War Room to monitor the situation 24 hours a day and manage machinery and personnel. Minister of Defense Lt. Gen. Adul Boonthamcharoen has also mobilized the military to provide support, including the deployment of FTS vehicles, flat-bottom boats, and field kitchens to assist vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and bedridden patients.
