Thailand weather improves as heavy rain subsides across most regions

Thailand is experiencing a transition in weather patterns as heavy rainfall begins to subside across much of the country. The Thai Meteorological Department reports that a low-pressure cell has moved toward the coast of Myanmar, weakening the southwest monsoon. While overall rainfall is decreasing, heavy rain and thunderstorms are still expected in parts of the North, Central, and Eastern regions, as well as the South.

In Bangkok, Governor Chatchart Sittipunt stated that flood situations are improving, with a goal to have 90% of main roads dry within two days. Authorities are focusing on pumping water from low-lying areas like Khlong Chan and Rom Klao. Emergency measures include distributing food to isolated communities and monitoring over 300 bedridden patients.

Residents in mountainous and low-lying areas are advised to remain vigilant against flash floods, forest runoffs, and landslides. Maritime warnings have also been issued for the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, where waves may exceed 2 to 3 meters in thunderstorm areas.
