Thai Interior Minister Anutin Cancels Fraudulent Local Civil Service Exam Results

Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Chaichanakul ordered the cancellation of all local civil‑service exam results after authorities uncovered a large‑scale fraud scheme that mis‑represented applicant qualifications. The investigation, led by the Anti‑Corruption Commission and the Central Investigation Police, found that the irregularities caused losses exceeding 4.5 billion baht.

Despite some candidates already being appointed, the minister said the results must be void because the recruitment process was illegal. He assured the public that officials involved, including senior ministry staff, will be prosecuted and assets recovered. Anutin met with deputy ministers, the police commander, and anti‑corruption officials to coordinate further actions and to prevent similar abuses in the future.
