Thailand's Interior Ministry ends hiring pause for local civil servants
The Civil Service Commission has cancelled the order that delayed the appointment of grade‑1 local officials, allowing candidates to report for duty as scheduled. The move follows a cabinet meeting chaired by Deputy Minister of Interior Wat Worasit Liangprasit, who said the decision protects candidates who passed the exam honestly and that any proven corruption will lead to individual revocation.
The commission also announced it will request a fresh verification of the local‑government exam answer sheets, which were seized by the National Anti‑Corruption Commission. About 480,000 answer sheets will be re‑examined, a process expected to take roughly one week. Coordination with the anti‑corruption agency and other oversight bodies will ensure transparency and accuracy of the results.
