Thanasis Kavvadias Announces €7 million EU‑Funded Infrastructure Projects in Lefkada

Greek Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food and Lefkada MP Thanasis Kavvadias met with Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) president George Stasinou to review projects on the island financed by the EU Recovery and Resilience Fund.

The works total over €7 million and include a smart LED lighting network for the provincial road system, budgeted at about €3.6 million, with 1,137 light poles equipped with photovoltaic panels. The project is funded by the Ministry of Digital Governance and overseen by the Technical Chamber.

A second component funds six smart pedestrian crossings near primary and secondary schools, costing roughly €300 000, to improve safety for students. The crossings will feature modern lighting systems. Both initiatives aim to upgrade public infrastructure and enhance road safety on Lefkada.
