Thanh Hóa Province Drives Digital Economy Growth and Infrastructure Projects
Thanh Hóa province is promoting a digital‑focused economic strategy. Development of OCOP products linked to regional value chains is intended to shift from traditional agriculture to a modern agricultural economy. In the first half of 2026, the province’s industrial output rose about 10.7%, with 18 of 19 key industrial products outpacing the previous year, a boost supported by the State Bank’s flexible monetary policy that kept interest rates stable.
Local authorities are also advancing digital governance and public‑safety measures. After a year of operating a two‑level digital administration model, commune‑level staff report stable and efficient operations. Police and rescue services issued water‑safety advisories for children, while maritime police increased patrols on Lake Cửa Đạt to enforce vessel registration and safety. The provincial police completed 100 % collection of DNA samples from unidentified war‑hero relatives ahead of schedule. Meanwhile, a 500‑billion‑dong road project connecting Hà Trung and Bỉm Sơn has progressed to only about 35 % completion, delayed to 2027 due to land‑acquisition issues.
