Thanh Hằng faces social media backlash over viral line in 'Mesdames Thanh Sắc
The Vietnamese film *Mesdames Thanh Sắc*, marking Thanh Hằng's return to the big screen as actress and producer, has sparked extensive debate on social media. A short line delivered by her character – “Dừng xe đi” – quickly became a meme, drawing criticism for its unnatural delivery and prompting jokes such as “Dừng share đi”. Viewers also ridiculed other scenes, claiming the actress’s emotional expressions appeared forced.
Similar criticism was directed at co‑stars Xuân Lan in *Thẩm Mỹ Viện Âm Phủ* for the line “Chị là một người an toàn,” and Quỳnh Thy in *Một Thời Ta Đã Yêu” for “Bông đẹp quá kìa” and “Em nói không,” both of which were labeled as awkward and AI‑like. While the film’s production values and period setting – inspired by a 1960s Saigon case – received praise, many reviewers found the script thin, the pacing flat, and the character conflicts underdeveloped. The viral dialogue has eclipsed the film’s content in online discussions.
