THC-infused beverages see rising popularity in the United States
A new generation of beverages containing low doses of THC is gaining popularity in the United States. These drinks, which include sparkling water, teas, and lemonades, typically contain between 2 and 5 milligrams of THC. Marketed as a form of ‘bottled relaxation,’ the products aim to provide a social experience similar to beer or cocktails without the intense effects associated with traditional cannabis consumption.
The category is experiencing rapid growth. Euromonitor projects that the American market for hemp-derived beverages could reach $4.1 billion by 2028. These products are often packaged in colorful cans with fruit flavors like orange and pineapple, and are priced around $6 per dose or $70 per bottle. This trend follows a regulatory trajectory in the U.S. that began with state-level legalization in the 1990s and was furthered by the 2018 Farm Bill.
