The Beatles launch expanded 'Rubber Soul' edition

Universal Music Group and Apple Corps Ltd announced a new, expanded edition of the Beatles' 1965 album "Rubber Soul" to be released on 2 October. The collection, overseen by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell, offers fresh stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes drawn from the original master tapes, along with a host of previously unheard material – 20 unreleased studio recordings, three home‑demo tracks, early versions of "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out", and a never‑released Lennon composition titled "Little Girl". The super‑deluxe package includes four CDs, a hardcover book and additional memorabilia.

The reissue celebrates the album’s historic impact on pop music, highlighting its role in shifting focus from singles to album‑oriented artistry. Critics have long cited "Rubber Soul" as a turning point that introduced richer songwriting and experimental studio techniques, influencing generations of musicians. The new edition aims to present the album in high‑resolution formats for contemporary listeners while preserving its legacy.
