The Beatles to Release Expanded ‘Rubber Soul’ Super Deluxe Edition on Oct 2

The Beatles will issue an expanded special‑edition reissue of their 1965 album Rubber Soul on 2 October. The release, announced by Universal Music Group and Apple Corps, features new stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes created by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell from the original four‑track master tapes using de‑mix technology developed by Emile de la Rey’s WingNut Films. In addition to the new mixes the set includes the original mono master, the original Capitol US album version and the 1965 double‑A‑single “Day Tripper/We Can Work It Out”. The Super Deluxe editions add 24 early session recordings – 20 previously unreleased takes and three home demos – and a previously unheard John Lennon demo titled “Little Girl”. An 88‑page hardbound book accompanies the collection, with an introduction by Paul McCartney and a foreword compiled from Lennon’s own words. The release will be offered in several configurations: standard 1 CD/1 LP, 2 CD/2 LP, Super Deluxe 4 CD/5 LP box sets and a Blu‑ray edition, all available for pre‑order now.
