The Beatles release expanded Special Edition of ‘Rubber Soul’
Apple Corps Ltd and Universal Music Group have announced the release of a new Special Edition of The Beatles’ 1965 album, ‘Rubber Soul’. Released on October 2, 2026, the project features new stereo mixes created by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell using the original four-track master tapes.
The expanded edition includes Dolby Atmos mixes, the original mono mix, and the US Capitol version of the album. It also features previously unreleased archival material, including session recordings and home demos for tracks such as ‘Norwegian Wood’, ‘Michelle’, ‘In My Life’, and ‘I’m Looking Through You’. Additionally, the release includes the single ‘Day Tripper / We Can Work It Out’.
Originally released in December 1965, ‘Rubber Soul’ is recognized as a pivotal moment in the band’s evolution, marking a shift toward more experimental songwriting and production. The album was recorded in four weeks following the band’s record-breaking performance at Shea Stadium.
