The Traitors franchise announces new celebrity and civilian seasons
The reality competition franchise ‘The Traitors’ is expanding its upcoming seasons across different formats and regions.
In the United Kingdom, the BBC is preparing for the second season of ‘Celebrity Traitors,’ hosted by Claudia Winkleman. Comedian Joe Lycett revealed he inadvertently breached his non-disclosure agreement by telling various people about his participation before the official announcement. The celebrity lineup includes 21 stars such as Bella Ramsey, Michael Sheen, and Maya Jama. The BBC has secured a deal to keep the franchise on its networks until at least 2030.
In the United States, ‘The Traitors US,’ hosted by Alan Cumming, is introducing a twist for its ‘New Blood’ season. Moving away from a cast of reality stars, the new season will feature 22 everyday civilians competing for a $250,000 prize. The series is set to premiere on NBC and Peacock in September 2026. The cast includes individuals such as Abbey Lee, an astrophysicist, and various professionals ranging from teachers to attorneys.
