The Ellinikon Sports Park opens in Athens

LAMDA Development has announced the opening of The Ellinikon Sports Park, a major milestone in Europe’s largest urban regeneration project. The park is part of a larger initiative to transform the former Athens International Airport into a modern coastal city.

Spanning 287,000 square meters, the Sports Park includes a track and field complex, football pitches, a throwing field, and courts for tennis and basketball. It also features 115,000 square meters of landscaped green space and athlete dormitories. The venue has already hosted international events, such as the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship Acropolis Rally.

As the sports facility opens to the public, construction continues on other aspects of the project, including residential neighborhoods, retail destinations, and the Riviera Tower.
