The Gardens Mall hosts Malaysian heritage art exhibition

The Gardens Mall in Kuala Lumpur is hosting ‘Exploring Local Art 4.0’, an immersive exhibition celebrating Malaysian heritage through batik and traditional culture. Running from 26 August to 20 September 2026, the showcase features five monumental installations—Forge, Imprint, Spectrum, Melt, and Canopy—created in collaboration with Kapten Batik and artist Jun Ong.

The event utilizes light, sound, and technology to reimagine the batik-making process. Visitors can also experience interactive installations of traditional Malaysian games like Dam Ular and Batu Seremban, as well as a ten-layer fabric tunnel featuring an original soundtrack by Kamal Sabran. The exhibition includes workshops and social media contests to engage the public with local artistry.
