The Hague to offer free leadership training for cybersecurity professionals
The City of The Hague is launching subsidized leadership training for cybersecurity professionals to combat talent shortages by improving employee retention. The initiative follows research by MultiTeam Solutions, commissioned by the city, which found that effective management and professional support are critical in reducing stress, burnout, and the desire for employees to leave the sector.
The training, which is fully funded by the city and free for participants, is scheduled to begin in November 2026. The curriculum will focus on helping managers recognize workload pressures, provide constructive feedback, and acknowledge professional achievements. This is particularly aimed at technical specialists transitioning into management roles.
Deputy Mayor Richard de Mos stated that while the city aims to be an international leader in cybersecurity by investing in technology, it must also invest in the people currently working to maintain digital security. The research findings will be presented during the ONE Conference on October 6 through an interactive workshop.
