Lionsgate releases new trailer for ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’
Lionsgate has released a new trailer for ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’, the sixth film in the franchise based on the novel by Suzanne Collins. Directed by Francis Lawrence, the prequel is set 24 years before the original series and follows a young Haymitch Abernathy, played by Joseph Zada, during the 50th annual Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.
The film features a doubled number of tributes, with 48 competitors entering the arena. The trailer highlights Haymitch’s struggle for survival and his growing defiance against President Snow, portrayed by Ralph Fiennes. The ensemble cast includes Mckenna Grace as Maysilee Donner, Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, and Glenn Close as Drusilla Sickle.
‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 20, 2026.
