Pokémon TCG announces new sets and dual-type cards

The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is preparing several major updates for its physical and digital formats.

In Japan, a new High Class booster set titled ‘MEGA x MEGA Parade’ is scheduled for release on February 19, 2027. This set will feature Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, which were introduced in the Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC. The High Class packs will be priced at ¥550 per pack, containing 10 cards each with one guaranteed high-rarity hit. The release date was adjusted to accommodate the worldwide launch of the Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration set and the Aura Seeker set.

For the digital game Pokémon TCG Pocket, new expansions are set to arrive in October 2026. These updates will introduce dual-type cards, such as Mega-Mewtwo X, which combines Psychic and Fighting types. Additionally, several starter Pokémon will receive ‘ex’ card treatments, including Piplup ex and Fuecoco ex.
