The Sims 4 gets major update adding auto‑save and Memory Boost

Electronic Arts announced a new "Laundry List" update for The Sims 4 that will introduce an AutoSave feature and optional save‑reminder alerts. The update also rolls out the Memory Boost tool, aimed at improving performance and reducing memory‑related save issues on PC, Mac and console versions. The changes are scheduled for release on 21 July 2026 and will be available across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms (EA App, Epic Games Store, Steam). EA indicated that a further quality‑of‑life patch is planned for September, focusing on enhanced Sim autonomy and responsiveness.

The update follows a decade‑long request from the player community for automatic saving functionality.
