Theme parks launch new immersive horror experiences for Halloween

Major theme parks in the United Kingdom and Malaysia are launching new immersive horror experiences for the upcoming Halloween season.

In the UK, Thorpe Park is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Fright Nights event with a new out-of-attraction experience. On October 3, 2026, the Nova Lux Express will provide a pitch-black bus journey from Staines Railway Station to the park, serving as a prelude to the new Tenement scare maze. The experience is designed to immerse guests in the story of an abandoned care home before they even arrive at the park gates.

In Malaysia, Sunway Lagoon is hosting the 12th annual Nights Of Fright festival, themed ‘APE-OCALYPSE’. Running through November 7, 2026, the event features a post-civilization setting where apes have taken control. The festival incorporates various cultural influences, including Japanese folklore, manga, K-pop, and Southeast Asian supernatural stories, to create a diverse range of themed attractions and live entertainment.
