Thessaloniki hosts Greek ministers ahead of IMF meetings
Thessaloniki is hosting various government officials and ministers ahead of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s upcoming speech at the 90th IMF Annual Meetings. The ministerial program includes several site visits and events across Northern Greece.
Key activities include Infrastructure Minister Christos Dimas visiting the Flyover construction site, Culture Minister Lina Mendoni visiting the Toumba archaeological site, and Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis attending an inauguration in Nea Michaniona. Additionally, Deputy Minister of Sports Giannis Vroutsis is scheduled to sign agreements for projects totaling 11.6 million euros.
Commentary regarding the IMF meetings highlights a desire for more cohesive, long-term economic reform strategies for Greece. Observers suggest that instead of routine political promises, there is a need for a productive model focusing on industry, technology, and energy, alongside improvements in the healthcare and education sectors.
