Thessaloniki hosts ‘Making Democracy in Greece and America’ exhibition
The traveling exhibition ‘Making Democracy in Greece and America’ arrived in Thessaloniki, marking the city as the second stop following its inauguration in Athens. The exhibition explores the evolution of democratic ideas from ancient Athens to the American Revolution and the Greek Revolution of 1821, highlighting the historical and contemporary ties between Greece and the United States.
U.S. Consul General in Thessaloniki, Matthew Hagengruber, welcomed guests at the American Space Thessaloniki, noting that the exhibition celebrates a bond rooted in shared history. The event also coincides with the upcoming 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, serving as an opportunity to emphasize the continuity of democratic principles across generations.
