New and modified bus lines are being implemented in Thessaloniki as part of the new transport planning for Kalamaria, effective September 1, 2026. The changes were announced by the Thessaloniki Transport Project Organization (OSETH).

Key new routes include the M2 connecting Mikra Metro Station to A.S. IKEA, and several lines (6A, 6B, 33, 33A, 33B, 39, 39A, 39B, 39S) serving areas such as Nea Elvetia, Kalamaria, Kifisia, and The Mart.

A special airport line, X3, provides a direct connection between Mikra Metro Station and Makedonia Airport. This line began operations on August 27, 2026, allowing passengers to transfer from the metro to the airport. The X3 line operates with a special fare of 2.00€.
