Greece launches voucher applications for childcare, removing income limits for large families

The Greek government has opened electronic applications for the second round (2026‑2027) of a childcare voucher programme funded with €393.5 million from the EU Social Fund and national resources. The scheme covers infant‑, toddler‑ and preschool‑centres as well as Creative Activity Centres (KΔΑΠ) for children, adolescents and persons with disabilities. A key change for the 2026‑2027 cycle is that families with four or more children can receive vouchers without any income test. Other families still have income ceilings of €35,000 for up to two children and €38,000 for three children. Applications are accepted from 18 July to 5 August 2026 via the EETAA portal, using Taxisnet credentials; submission is staggered according to the last digit of the applicant’s tax ID. Eligible applicants include parents, legal guardians or representatives of eligible children. Minister Domna Michailidou said, “We said it and we act: children from large families can receive vouchers without income criteria.” The programme is administered jointly by several ministries and draws applicant data automatically from the Interoperability Centre of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
