Thessaloniki Mayor and EOT Agree on Year‑Round Tourism Boost

Mayor Stelios Aggeloudis of Thessaloniki and General Secretary of the Greek National Tourism Organization (EOT) Andreas Fiorentinos met at the city hall to set a joint strategy aimed at elevating Thessaloniki’s profile as a tourist destination. The plan focuses on expanding airline connections through a programme targeting 2027, promoting the city as a 365‑day destination, and strengthening its position among Europe’s top city‑break and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) locations.

EOT will support the municipality’s promotional missions abroad, beginning with a delegation to Bucharest at the end of September. Both parties agreed to implement shared programmes, further utilize the Tourist Organisation of Thessaloniki (OTTH), and reinforce the ongoing operational plan to turn current challenges into opportunities for tourism recovery and growth.
