Thessaloniki Metro expansion faces parliamentary inquiry

Members of Parliament Rania Thrasia and Michalis Hurdakis of PASOK have issued a joint inquiry regarding the expansion of the Thessaloniki Metro to the western side of the city. The inquiry follows the commencement of preliminary works in the areas of Eptalofos, Menemeni, Kordelio, and Evosmos.

The lawmakers are seeking clarification from the Ministry regarding the specific nature of the project, the established timeline, and when these preliminary stages will transition into actual construction. They have also requested official administrative and technical documentation to ensure transparency regarding completed and approved steps.

Additionally, the MPs raised questions concerning the extension of the relevant framework agreement until 2028 and whether financial continuity for the project has been secured.
