Thessaloniki Helexpo redevelopment and new economic measures announced

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has unveiled a major redevelopment plan for the International Exhibition of Thessaloniki (Helexpo) and the creation of a metropolitan park. The project, which aims to position the exhibition center as a leading European hub for business and conference tourism, is expected to significantly transform the urban landscape of Thessaloniki by 2030. The redevelopment includes over 100 acres of green space and bioclimatic exhibition buildings.

In a related announcement at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair, Development Minister Takis Theodorakakos detailed a series of economic measures designed to ensure national stability over the next four years. These measures target various social groups, including professionals, workers, and farmers. Key initiatives include the abolition of professional fees in certain regions, tax relief for farmers earning up to 20,000 euros, and support for families with three children to address demographic challenges.

Additionally, METKA has expressed strong interest in participating in the Helexpo redevelopment project. The company is currently managing several infrastructure projects in Northern Greece, including school constructions and the Flyover project, which is slated for completion in 2027.
