Thessaly Flood Victims to Receive Final 14% State Aid from August 1

From 1 August the Greek government will begin paying the final 14 percent of state assistance to businesses and farmers that were damaged by the Daniel floods in the Thessaly region. The payout was announced in a joint press conference by Regional Governor Dimitris Kouretes, Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis Kostas Katsafados and General Secretary of Disaster Recovery Petros Kambouris.

Authorities say 29,490 eligible recipients – 6,136 enterprises and 23,354 farms – have been processed, with 28,249 already incorporated into final grant decisions and the remaining 1,241 still undergoing the last verification stage. Most beneficiaries have already received an 86 percent advance, and 2,511 have now been paid the remaining 14 percent. Ongoing coordination is ensured through bi‑weekly and monthly meetings among the regional administration, the Ministry of Climate Crisis, and the General Secretariat for Disaster Recovery.
