Greek Thessaly flood aid program

Overview

In mid‑July 2026 the Greek Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, together with the Finance and Rural Development ministries, reopened the online myBusinessSupport platform to accept applications for the second phase of the second round of financial assistance to businesses affected by the September 2023 Daniel floods in Thessaly. The platform, supported by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue, remained open until 20 July 2026 and covered several sub‑schemes for businesses, tourism operators, transport services, accommodation providers and fishing firms.

By the end of July, the government announced that, starting 1 August, the final 14 percent of state aid would be paid to the remaining eligible businesses and farms. Out of 29,490 recipients processed, most had already received an 86 percent advance, and 2,511 had now received the remaining portion. Ongoing coordination among regional and national authorities continued through regular meetings to complete verification and disbursement.

The sequence shows the transition from reopening the application platform for additional aid to the final payout phase, completing the multi‑year assistance program for flood‑impacted enterprises and agricultural producers in Thessaly.
