Thessaly Region plans support for legume producers
The Thessaly Region is developing initiatives to support legume producers and address surplus stock in the Greek market. During a meeting with the Interprofessional Legume Organization, Regional Governor Dimitris Kouretas discussed strategies to facilitate the distribution of high-quality Greek legumes through institutional channels, including schools, hospitals, and the Armed Forces.
To achieve this, the Region intends to establish technical specifications for relevant procurement tenders. Additionally, the Thessaly Region is organizing a festival and exhibition in early December at Mylos tou Pappa in Larissa. This event will allow consumers to purchase packaged legumes directly from local cooperatives in accordance with legal requirements.
