Thessaly Region completes vehicle fleet renewal in Larissa
The Thessaly Region has completed a full renewal of its vehicle fleet in the Larissa regional unit. Following the delivery of five new vehicles on October 9, 2026, the region has acquired a total of 13 modern and safe cars, including eight Fiat urban vehicles and five Toyota Corolla Cross SUVs designed for mountainous and difficult terrain.
Regional Governor Dimitris Kouretas stated that the initiative aims to improve worker safety and operational readiness, noting that previous vehicles were over 25 years old. The procurement was conducted through an international tender for less than 400,000 euros. Unlike leasing, these vehicles were purchased outright, with full cost amortization expected within five years. The region plans to implement similar fleet renewals in Magnesia, Karditsa, and Trikala.
