Thom Yorke discusses personal crisis following Radiohead reunion tour

Thom Yorke has revealed that Radiohead’s 2025 reunion tour led to a significant personal crisis and a massive collapse in self-confidence. Despite the emotional intensity of the tour, which included 20 shows in cities such as Madrid, Bologna, London, Copenhagen, and Berlin, the singer stated that the aftermath took months to overcome.

Yorke noted that he only began to recover his equilibrium by returning to his solo work. He is currently collaborating with producer Sam Petts-Davies on a new album, which he described as being ‘pretty fucking different’.

Reflecting on his relationship with his musical legacy, Yorke mentioned feeling ‘profoundly confused’ by public recognition, such as receiving a Fellowship at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards. He expressed a preference for looking forward to new projects rather than navigating the expectations associated with the band’s history. While the tour was taxing, he recalled the profound emotional impact of the opening night in Madrid, where the band walked through the crowd to reach the stage.
