Thomas Hitzlsperger eyes TSV 1860 Munich ownership stake
Former German international Thomas Hitzlsperger confirmed his interest in acquiring a share of TSV 1860 Munich, potentially replacing majority shareholder Hasan Ismaik. He said the interest stems from discussions with an investor group and constructive talks with club officials, Ismaik’s representatives, and other stakeholders.
Hitzlsperger noted that while the talks are ongoing, the timing is challenging because the season has just ended and the club is planning for the upcoming season. He suggested that any sale may be postponed until a more suitable moment, but the interest remains present.
The comments were made during a broadcast of "Blickpunkt Sport" and were partly inspired by the recent ARD documentary "Rise & Fall," which sparked varied reactions among the club’s supporters.
