Thompson Rivers University and NVIT sign education partnership

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) and the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to formalize a framework for collaboration in public education. Effective August 11, the agreement aims to foster initiatives such as Indigenous language credentials and the delivery of TRU credentials through NVIT leadership and faculty, both on-campus and virtually.

TRU President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Airini noted that the partnership seeks to advance truth, reconciliation, and Indigenous rights through education. NVIT President and CEO Dr. John Chenoweth stated the agreement provides opportunities for innovative approaches to extend education and services to Indigenous communities, building on NVIT’s mandate as British Columbia’s Indigenous public post-secondary institution.
