Mailza Assis' re‑election bid formalized at Acre party convention

The Federação União Progressista (PP + UB) scheduled a party convention for 31 July in Rio Branco’s Sesc Bosque to officially endorse Governor Mailza Assis’ candidacy for the 2026 Acre gubernatorial election. The event will also confirm former federal deputy Jéssica Sales (MDB) as her running‑mate, with support from allied parties including MDB, PDT and PL.

On the same day, the left‑wing alliance of PT, PCdoB, PV, PSOL, Rede, PSB and Podemos will hold its own convention to launch physician Thor Dantas as its gubernatorial candidate, with the vice‑presidential slot still to be decided.

Meanwhile, pre‑candidate Tião Bocalom toured remote municipalities such as Santa Rosa do Purus, urging the state government to build a road linking the town to BR‑364 to improve economic integration and public services.
