Three alpinists rescued from Sharr Mountain, one taken to Tetovo hospital

Three alpinists were rescued after becoming stranded on the difficult terrain near the Bistrica summit of Sharr Mountain, close to the "Tri Vodi" area near Tearcë. The group had called the emergency number 112 at 18:46 on July 11. Rescue operations were coordinated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police, fire units and a rapid‑intervention mountain team. After walking for three to four hours they reached a location where they could be evacuated to the regional road near Leshok. The 38‑year‑old A. Ç. from Zherovjan, who suffered chest pain and breathing problems, was transported by ambulance to the Clinical Hospital in Tetovo. The other two climbers received on‑site medical assistance and were later released.

In a separate incident the same day, a Romanian tourist who had become lost while walking in the Matka region was located by emergency operators using his 112 call coordinates. He was found around 04:00, remained in stable condition and was guided out of the area safely.
