Three arrested in Drama, Greece for cannabis and cocaine trafficking after high‑speed chase

On 31 July 2026, police in the Drama region of northern Greece stopped a vehicle carrying three local suspects who were transporting 405 g of raw cannabis and 53 g of cocaine. The suspects collided with a police patrol car, drove dangerously, and attempted to hide the drugs in a bushy area before being immobilised and taken into custody.

The operation was carried out by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Drama Crime Investigation Department with assistance from the Tourism Police. In addition to the seized narcotics, authorities recovered cash, three mobile phones and the vehicle used in the offence. The three men were transferred to the prosecutor of the Drama Primary Court and a case file was opened for violations of drug‑related legislation, violence against officers, and dangerous interference with road traffic.
