Three fishermen rescued after motorboat capsizes near Incheon

Three men in their 20s and 30s were rescued from the sea near Chojido, Ongjin County, after their motorboat capsized. The group had been missing for approximately 11 hours after losing contact following a fishing trip that began at Wangsan Beach in Yeongjongdo.

The Incheon Coast Guard conducted an overnight search involving 19 patrol vessels and three aircraft after a missing person report was filed. The men were found clinging to their overturned 0.28-ton motorboat. All three individuals were reported to be in non-life-threatening condition.

Officials noted that the survival of the men during the long period at sea was significantly aided by the relatively high water temperature of 25.8 degrees Celsius and the fact that they were wearing life jackets. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the capsize and the vessel's movement route.
