Fishermen rescue in Venezuela

Overview

Three fishermen from Nueva Esparta were rescued near Tuja Island in Choroní, Aragua, after spending nine days adrift in the Caribbean Sea. The survivors, identified as Jesús Fermín, Robert Cedeño, and Jhon Marín, had departed from the port of Porlamar on Margarita Island aboard a vessel named ‘La V’.

The incident occurred after the boat experienced mechanical engine failure and sank due to adverse sea conditions, leaving the men without potable water. Following their rescue, the men were treated at the Choroní Ambulatory for extreme dehydration, sunburns, and physical exhaustion.
