Three suspects detained after random shooting in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district

Police in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district arrested three men after a moving vehicle fired randomly on Bozdoğan Street in the Kanarya neighbourhood on 9 July 2026. Security cameras captured the incident and investigators recovered ten empty cartridges from the scene.

The suspects – identified as 22‑year‑old Y. A., 25‑year‑old S. A. and 23‑year‑old S. A. – were detained by the Küçükçekmece District Police Department, charged with "General Safety Endangerment" and "Property Damage," and taken before a court, where they were remanded to prison.

The operation was described by police as thorough, citing rapid identification through footage and extensive on‑site investigation.
