Three Young Men Arrested for Coordinated Theft Spree in Dâmbovița County, Romania
Romanian police detained three men aged 22 to 24 on a 30‑day preventive order after linking them to a series of burglaries carried out between May and June in the Dâmbovița County towns of Voinești, Șotânga, Ulmi and Târgoviște. Investigators say the suspects forced entry into shops at night, stealing cash, cigarettes, alcohol and other goods, causing total losses estimated in the tens of thousands of lei. The group reportedly used masks, gloves and disabled a surveillance camera, and also operated unregistered vehicles, including driving without a licence and refuelling without paying.
Evidence collected by the Târgoviște municipal police and the Rural Police Section led to the suspects' initial 24‑hour detention, after which a court ordered preventive custody. The investigation continues to determine the full extent of the criminal activity.
